Works awesome under Manjaro Linux!
Managed to install it for my hp 1415cfnw on Ubuntu 17.10 in order to be able to scan (Ubuntu already recognizes printer and allows printing). Though I replaced 17.10 by a fresh 18.04 and cannot install the driver anymore. Some characters are not recognized. EDIT I was not installing properly. you need to locate into install directory and "sh hplip-3.18.3.run" or other version of hplip
does not work with linux mint 18.3 and hp laserjet pro m102w. says it cannot recognize some characters. What gives?
Installed perfectly the first time. Printed on my new device over the network with beautiful results. Even figured out the IP address with no manual intervention.
hplip-3.16.11.run on Debian jessie 8.6 bugs when asking for the root password. Running with sudo is not recommended but a work-around for this problem. 'No PPD found' is mentioned during the Print Queue Setup and running hp-setup manually is recommended. But that is not necessary. The installation is successful despite those error messages, and the cups-printer works.
